The Kinesiology and Health Promotion Department in the College of Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2016. Candidate’s specializations in Biomechanics are especially welcomed to apply.

The Position
The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomechanics and related areas; develop and pursue an externally funded research program; direct master’s theses and projects; and university service. The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, professional and scholarly achievements, and a commitment to service to the university.

Required Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. in kinesiology, biomechanics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by September 1, 2016; college teaching experience, scholarly achievements, including ability to lead undergraduate and graduate research, and strong potential to obtain external funding.

Date of Appointment

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR DEPARTMENT OF KINESIOLOGY AND HEALTH PROMOTION

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Adapted Physical Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in adapted physical education and related areas; supervise student teachers; develop and pursue an externally-funded research program; direct master’s theses and projects; and university service.

Required Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. in adapted physical education/pedagogy, kinesiology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution (verified ABD considered; doctorate degree required by September 1, 2015); potential for excellence in teaching, research, obtaining funding, and leadership in adapted physical education, including promotion of the on-campus Motor Development Clinic.
