Qualifications:PhD degree in Kinesiology or related field with a specialization/expertise in APE/APA is preferred.
Appointment Date: August 1, 2008.
Duties: The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate for this position will include, but not be limited to: teaching undergraduate Adapted Physical Activity and Adapted Physical Education courses and supervising students who assist with community-based recreation, physical activity, rehabilitation and sport service learning projects for individuals with disabilities. Further teaching responsibilities may be negotiated depending upon the candidate's experience and expertise. The Department of Kinesiology and Health, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2008. The successful candidate will have public school teaching experience (Special Education, Adapted Physical Education, Physical Education) and potential for establishing a record of professional and scholarly activity. A doctorate is required. The primary areas of teaching responsibility will be undergraduate/graduate adapted physical education teacher preparation courses within a nationally accredited program. Additional teaching responsibilities may include teaching within the physical education major. Advising students, committee membership, and contributing to the profession through published research and other scholarly activity are expected.
